Service AlertsSanta Cruz METRO is offering free rides on fixed-route and ParaCruz services to the Santa Cruz County Fair, September 10–14, at the Watsonville Fairgrounds. Take Routes 79 or 79F from the Watsonville Transit Center. Wednesday through Friday, departures will run from 10:35am to 9:35pm. On Saturday and Sunday, departures will run from 8:35am to 9:35pm. Return trips from the Fairgrounds will depart hourly, on the hour. Riders may request a voucher from the operator upon arrival at the Fairgrounds for discounted admission. Quarterly Service UpdatesROUTE CHANGE
Weekdays: The last three evening trips of Routes 2 and 73 will be combined into Route 2N, which will follow the same route as Route 2 from Santa Cruz to Soquel Dr & Freedom Blvd, but then will operate on Freedom Blvd to Airport Blvd. Then it will serve Airport Blvd (Freedom Centre), all Green Valley Road stops between Airport Blvd/Holohan Road and Main St, then serve Route 2 stops on Main St to Watsonville Transit Center. Route 2N will depart Santa Cruz at 9:30pm, 10:30pm and 11:30pm and Capitola Mall at 9:46pm, 10:45pm, and 11:44pm.
Weekends: The 9:30pm and 10:30pm Route 2 departures from Santa Cruz and the 9:45pm and 10:45pm Route 73 departures from Capitola Mall have been combined into Route 2N trips departing Santa Cruz at 9:30pm and 10:30pm and Capitola Mall at 9:47pm and 10:47pm.
